ABSTRACT

To introduce the clinical experience of professor SUN Shen-tian in treatment of Tourette's syndrome (TS) with acupuncture. TS is a psychosomatic disease and the core pathogenesis refers to blood deficiency producing internal wind. The disease is located in the heart and liver. Acupoints are selected according to the functional orientation of the cerebral cortex. The extrapyramidal system area is preferred for tic disorder, and the emotional area is for behavioral disorder. The treatment focuses on regulating the mind by multiple methods, including manual needling technique used the transcranial repeated acupuncture, and regulating the mind by taking multiple acupoints, Baihui (GV 20), Neiguan (PC 6), Shenmen (HT 7) and Dazhong (KI 4) are stimulated. For abdominal twitching and mental symptoms of TS children, the first and third abdominal areas are selected. The target symptoms (biao) are treated specially by local acupoints, the combination of the starting and ending acupoints of the affected meridian, or the acupoints of the meridians with same name. The modified chaihu longgu muli decoction and siwu decoction are prescribed to sooth liver, nourish blood and soothe wind. In association with the characteristics and target symptoms of TS, the sequential therapy is used with filiform needling, intradermal needling, Chinese herbal medication and psychotherapy.

ABSTRACT

italic>Rehmannia glutinosa belongs to the Scrophulariaceae family with important medicinal value. In order to effectively explore the transcriptome information of R. glutinosa and identify the genes encoding enzymes involved in phenylethanol glycoside (PhGs) biosynthesis, the leaves, stems and tuberous roots of R. glutinosa were used for transcriptome sequencing using Pacific Biosiences RS II platform. A total of 27 773 transcripts were generated with an average length of 2 380 bp, and 27 236 coding sequences (CDS) were predicted. Using BLAST software, non-redundant transcript sequences were annotated with NR, NT, GO, COG, KEGG, SwissProt and Interpro databases and a total of 27 399 annotated genes were obtained. Among them, the number of genes related to Sesamum indicum in the NR database was the highest (81.44%), which is consistent with their evolutionary relationship. Enzymes likely involved in the biosynthesis of isoacteoside, echinacoside, cistanosides A, cistanosides F, 2′-acetylacteoside and leonoside F were identified, and 143 genes were identified in R. glutinosa full-length transcriptome. The expression levels of 19 genes correlated with acteoside content in twelve tissues of R. glutinosa, and most showed higher expression levels in leaf tissues and floral organs. This study provides more reliable transcriptome data for screening R. glutinosa for functional genes and provides a foundation for the study of the molecular mechanisms of PhGs biosynthesis.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the effect of placing drainage or not on rapid rehabilitation after total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Methods:From January, 2018 to September, 2020, 80 patients with knee osteoarthritis who underwent primary TKA in our hospital were analyzed retrospectively, and they were divided into groups A and B, with 40 cases in each group. Drainage was placed routinely in group A and not in group B. The postoperative serum inflammatory factors, postoperative pain score, postoperative complication rate, postoperative time out of bed, hospital stay, knee function score, range of motion of knee and World Health Organization Quality Of Life-abbreviated version score (WHOQOL-BREF) were compared between two groups. Results:There was no significant difference in the levels of C-reactive protein between two groups on the 1st to 3rd day after operation (t < 0.410, P > 0.05). There was no significant difference in Visual Analogue Score between two groups from 12 h to 48 h after operation (t < 0.300, P > 0.05). The incidences of postoperative complications were 5.0% in group A and 2.5% in group B, with no significant difference between two groups (χ2 = 0.346, P > 0.05). The time of getting out of bed and hospital stay was significantly shorter in group B than in group A (t > 4.863, P < 0.001). The scores of knee joint function, range of motion of knee and WHOQOL-BREF significantly increased after operation in both groups (t > 6.099, P < 0.001), however, there was no significant difference between two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion:Placement or non-placement of drainage after primary TKA does not affect postoperative complications, knee joint function and quality of life of patients with knee osteoarthritis, however, non-placement of drainage can promote postoperative recovery and discharge.

ABSTRACT

The present study analyzed the effects of planting density on the development, quality, and gene transcription characte-ristics of Rehmannia glutinosa using 85-5 and J9 as materials with three planting densities of 5 000, 25 000, and 50 000 plants/Mu(1 Mu≈667 m~2). The agronomic characteristics of leaves and tuberous roots, the content of catalpol and acteoside, and the changes of gene expression were determined. The results showed that the leaf size, the diameter of tuberous root, leaf biomass, tuberous root number, and tuberous root biomass per plant at low density were significantly higher than those of medium and high densities. The content of catalpol and acteoside in leaves was higher at high density. The content of catalpol in tuberous roots was higher at low density, and the change trend was similar to that in leaves, while the content of acteoside in tuberous roots was higher at high density. Transcriptome analysis found that about 1/2 of the expansin genes could change regularly in response to density treatment, which was rela-ted to the development of tuberous roots. The change trend of the gene expression of multiple catalytic enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of catalpol and acteoside was consistent with that of their content, which was presumedly involved in the accumulation and regulation of density-responsive medicinal components. Based on the analysis of the development, medicinal components, and gene expression characteristics of R. glutinosa at different densities, this study is expected to provide an important basis for regulating the quality and yield of medicinal materials of R. glutinosa by managing the planting density.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the influence of social-psychological factors on outcome of joint rehabilitation. Methods:From October, 2015 to April, 2017, 64 inpatients accepting joint rehabilitation were divided into anxiety group and non-anxiety group, and depression group and non-depression group, according to the scores of Hamilton Anxiety Scale and Hamilton Depression Scale. They were assessed with routine joint scores as initial and final stages of joint rehabilitation, as well as Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90) and World Health Organization Disability Assessment Schedule 2.0 (WHO-DAS 2.0). The correlation of joint scores to scores of SCL-90 and WHO-DAS 2.0 was analyzed with Spearman correlation analysis. Results:There were significant differences in joint scores between the depression and the non-depression groups initially and finally (|t| > 2.106, P < 0.05). The joint score at the initial stage was negatively correlated with the interpersonal factor score of SCL-90 (r = -0.257, P < 0.05). The joint score at the final stage was negatively correlated (P < 0.05) with the dimension one (r = -0.257) and four (r = -0.278) of WHO-DAS 2.0, total score (r = -0.263), and interpersonal (r = -0.328) and hostile (r = -0.385) factor scores of SCL-90. Improvement of joint score negative correlated with dimension one of WHO-DAS 2.0 score (r = -0.249, P < 0.05). Conclusion:The social-psychological factors affect the outcome of joint rehabilitation. It is necessary to explore the way to take the the social-psychological assessment into the routine three stage evaluation of the joint rehabilitation protocol.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze psychological stress level and features of recruits in training camp.Methods Psychological stress self-evaluation test (PSET) was applied to 1 600 recruits in training camp.Results ①There were 64 recruits(64/1600,4%) who had high level of psychological stress(T score ≥70).②The psychological stress symptoms of recruits in training camp mainly manifested as increased alertness (87.7%),sleep deprivation (57.6%),mental and physical fatigue (48.7%) and nervous irritability (45.2%).③Psychological stress levels of recruits with different ages and different levels of self-feeling in camp had significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion Recruits in training camp have partly excessive psychological stress responses,targeted emergency decompression trainings should be carried out in recruits.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>BACKGROUND</b>Hypotension induced by combined spinal epidural anesthesia in parturient with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) can easily compromise blood supply to vital organs including uteroplacental perfusion and result in fetal distress. The aim of this study was to investigate whether the goal-directed fluid therapy (GDFT) with LiDCO rapid system can improve well-being of both HDP parturient and their babies.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Fifty-two stable HDP parturient scheduled for elective cesarean delivery were recruited. After loading with 10 ml/kg lactated Ringer's solution (LR), parturient were randomized to the GDFT and control group. In the GDFT group, individualized fluid therapy was guided by increase in stroke volume (ΔSV) provided via LiDCO rapid system. The control group received the routine fluid therapy. The primary endpoints included maternal hypotension and the doses of vasopressors administered prior to fetal delivery. The secondary endpoints included umbilical blood gas abnormalities and neonatal adverse events.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The severity of HDP was similar between two groups. The total LR infusion (P < 0.01) and urine output (P < 0.05) were higher in the GDFT group than in the control group. Following twice fluid challenge tests, the systolic blood pressure, mean blood pressure, cardiac output and SV in the GDFT group were significantly higher, and the heart rate was lower than in the control group. The incidence of maternal hypotension and doses of phenylephrine used prior to fetal delivery were significantly higher in the control group than in the GDFT group (P < 0.01). There were no differences in the Apgar scores between two groups. In the control group, the mean values of pH in umbilical artery/vein were remarkably decreased (P < 0.05), and the incidences of neonatal hypercapnia and hypoxemia were statistically increased (P < 0.05) than in the GDFT group.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>Dynamic responsiveness guided fluid therapy with the LiDCO rapid system may provide potential benefits to stable HDP parturient and their babies.</p>

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVES</b>To investigate the therapeutic effect of rehabilitation, arthroscopy and "hybrid technique" for posttraumatic knee stiffness (PTKS), and to make the best choice for the treatment.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>From February 2004 to November 2009, 66 patients suffered from PTKS were treated, and the clinical data were studied retrospectively, 36 male and 30 female patients with an average age of 41 years were analyzed, knee stiffness time averaged 15 months (0.5 - 108.0 months), 21 cases of patients were treated with rehabilitation (rehabilitation group), 22 cases of patients with arthroscopy + rehabilitation (arthroscopy group) and 23 cases of patients with mini-invasive "hybrid technique" + rehabilitation (hybrid technique group). For each case, the difference of range of motion (ROM) and hospital for special surgery (HSS) score of the knee before and after the treatment were analyzed statistically. The characters of PTKS including the course of the disease, the degree of extensor mechanism involving, physical examination and other ancillary data were also analyzed. The management methods for PTKS were summarized.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Total 66 cases were followed up ranging from 24.0-72.5 months and the mean time was 34.2 months. The average ROM was improved obviously: rehabilitation group increased from 45° ± 22° to 95° ± 24° (t = -11.2, P < 0.05), arthroscopy group from 47° ± 26° to 118° ± 11° (t = -11.0, P < 0.05) and hybrid technique group from 36° ± 22° to 110° ± 14° (t = -13.4, P < 0.05). Both ROM and HSS score of the knee before and after the treatment for each group showed significant difference statistically (t = -9.1, -6.0, -5.2, P < 0.05). Wound necrosis, tearing, re-fracture and extension lag were not found. According to Judet standard at final follow-up, 15 cases were excellent, 3 cases good and 3 cases normal in rehabilitation group; 15 cases were excellent, 5 cases good and 2 cases normal in arthroscopy group; 14 cases were excellent, 8 cases good and 1 case bad.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>Pathology of PTKS is complex, satisfactory result could be obtained through individualized treatment program, which were established depend on the course of the disease, the degree of extensor mechanism involving, physical examination and ancillary data. The timely and effective surgical interference followed by a comprehensive rehabilitation program is the key point for satisfied outcome.</p>

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the relationships among resilience, self-awareness, personality, stress level and mental health in the warship soldiers. Methods Resilience Scale for Adults ( RSA), Eysenck Personality Questionnaire ( EPQ), Self Acceptance Questionnaire( SAQ), General Self-Efficacy Scale( GSES), Wallance Self Concept Scale (WSCS), Psychological Stress Self-evaluation Test (PSET) and Symptom Checklist (SCL-90)were used to survey 1451 warship soldiers. Results ① 2.5% of the warship soldiers reported obvious psychological stress. Mental health of warship soldiers was worse than the norm of China population, except for obsessivecompulsive and interpersonal sensitivity factor. While the scores of other factors were significantly higher than the norm of Chinese soldiers(P<0.01). ②The total scores of SCL-90, psychological stress and resilience, internal/external had negative correlation with self-awareness, and positive correlation with neuroticism. Compared to the SCL-90-negative group,SCL-90-positive soldiers (SCL-90 total score > 160) had higher scores of nervousness and PSET and lower scores of RSA, internal/external and self-awareness (P < 0.01 ). ③Regression analysis showed that stress levels, emotional stability,self-awareness and resilience were able to predict 35.1% of mental health in warship soldiers. Mental health, emotional stability, internal/external and resilience were able to predict 33.2%of individual's stress level. Conclusion To some extent, warship soldiers have psychological stress and mental health problems. Resilience, personality, self-awareness are important factors affecting psychological stress and mental health.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate the role of the dynamic process of peripheral blood CD68 mononuclear cells proportion and macrophages inflitration and possible correlation between them during acute rejection of rat oral mucosal xenotransplantation.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Thirty-six female wistar rats were divided into three groups randomly, including xenotransplantation group (n = 15), trauma control group (n = 12) and normal control group (n = 9). The rat oral mucosa xenotransplantation model was established. The flow cytometry was used to evaluate the peripheral blood CD68 mononuclear cell and immunohistochemical assay performed to detect the macrophages infiltration one week (W1), two weeks (W2) and four weeks (W4) after xenotransplantation.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The peripheral blood CD68 mononuclear cells percentage of each xenotransplantation group presented a rise and fall tendency at the three time points, and the peak value appeared at W4 (43.1%), and the nadir at W2 (10.4%). The macrophage counts achieved peak value in xenotransplantation group at W1 [580.0(195.5) cell/high power field], and then reduced with time.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>The mononuclear cells and macrophage were capable of recognizing the xenograft and directly participated the acute rejection of rat oral mucosal xenotransplantation. The peripheral blood mononuclear cells percentage could reflect macrophage infiltrating condition at the early stage of the acute rejection.</p>

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the effects of resilience training on work fatigue,psychological stress and mental health in warship soldiers.Methods100 warship soldiers were selected and divided randomly into training-group (n=45) and control group (n=55),and the training group was divided into two groups by casting lots ( n t =22,n 2 =23 ).The shedding rate of the training group was 13% (6 out of 45 ),while the control group was 10% (5 out of 50).All of them were tested by the Resilience Scale for Adults ( RSA),Newly Developed Questionnaire for Work Related Fatigue Feelings (WRFFQ),Psychological Stress Self-evaluation Test (PSET) and Symptom Checklist (SCL-90) before and after training.According to resilience theory and its elements to design the group-training,10 times resilience training was arranged 2 hours once per week for the training group.The aim was to train members' self-awareness,emotion management,interpersonal communication,problem solving and social support and other capabilities.Before training there were no significant differences between the training-group and control-group in age,military service,job and education level and total average score of RSA,WRFFQ score,PSET standard scores and the SCL-90 total average score (P> 0.05 ).Results ①Compared with the pre-test resuits,the RSA ( 2.90 + 0.47) scores of training-group ( n =39) significantly increased after training,but the scores of WRFFQ(33.62 ± 11.24),PSET(47.80 ±9.09) and 5CL-90( 1.14 ±0.09) significantly reduced (P<0.05) ;For control group ( n =50),no significant differences were found in scores of RSA (2.56 + 0.57 ),WRFFQ (42.38± 17.76),PSET( 53.70 ± 13.25) and SCL-90( 1.43 ± 0.45 ) (P>0.05 ) ; ②Compared to the control group,posttest scores of RSA significantly increased,but the scores of WRFFQ,PSET and SCL-90 significantly decreased for the training-group(P < 0.05).Conclusion Resilience training can effectively improve warship soldiers' resilience,increase their anti-stress ability and mental health level and reduce fatigue symptoms.

ABSTRACT

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of meisoindigo on Wnt signal pathway in K562 cells and HL-60 cells and its possible regulatory mechanism. RT-PCR and Western blot assay were used to detect the expression of GSK-3beta and its downstream associated genes as well as proteins expression respectively. The results showed that the meisoindigo could inhibit the phosphorylation of GSK-3beta and decreased beta-catenin and c-myc genes expression in HL-60 cells, but did not significantly affect the two gene expression in K562 cells. Meisoindigo slightly increased the expression of GSK-3beta protein in HL-60 cells, obviously decreased the expression of p-GSK-3beta and c-MYC proteins in K562 cells and HL-60 cells, while meisoindigo did not affect the expression of beta-catenin in K562 cells significantly, but could decrease the expression of beta-catenin in HL-60 cells. It is concluded that the meisoindigo can affect the Wnt signal pathway through inhibiting the GSK-3beta expression and down-regulating the beta-catenin and c-MYC protein expression, which play an important role in the treatment for chronic myeloid leukemia.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To treat dorsally displaced intra-articular fractures of the distal radius, and to assess the integrity of radiocarpal joint and the reliability of stable fixation fracture.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Sixty-three cases (65 sides) patients with dorsally displaced intra-articular fractures of the distal radius were performed operatively with the open reduction and internal fixation via palmar approach between August 2003 and May 2008. The series included 20 males (21 sides) and 43 females (44 sides). The mean age of patients was 52.4 years ranging from 18 to 82 years. According to the Frykman classification, 6 sides were of type III, 8 of type IV, 5 of type V, 4 of type VI, 13 of type VII and 29 of type VIII. With the exception of the radiocarpal arthrography and the standard antero-posterior and lateral views of the wrist joint, two new tangential antero-posterior and lateral views of the wrist joint were intraoperatively described so as to observe the relation of the distal screws with the articular surface.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The 53 cases (54 sides) of the 63 cases (65 sides) were followed up, and the follow-up time was averagely 16.4 months ranging from 4 to 47 months. According to Gartland and Werley criteria, 32 sides were rated as excellent (59.3%), 14 sides as good (25.9%), 7 fair (13.0%) and 1 poor (1.8%), and the excellent-good rate was 85.2%. Observing the new tangential antero-posterior and lateral views of the wrist joint, it showed that screws appeared penetrating into the radiocarpal joint in 26 of the 42 sides by standard antero-posterior view and in 31 of the 42 sides by standard lateral view.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>This palmar approach represents a simple and valuable treatment methodology for the most frequent types of unstable fractures of the distal radius in young and elderly patients.</p>

ABSTRACT

Antitumor activity and the mechanism of CPUY013, a novel Topo I inhibitor, on gastric adenocarcinoma BGC823 cells were studied in vitro and in vivo. The proliferation was investigated by MTT assay and colony formation assay. Apoptosis was determined by both dual fluorescence staining with AO and EB and DNA agarose gel electrophoresis analysis methods. Nude mice model of BGC823 xenograft tumor was established by subcutaneous inoculation. The suppression activity of the CPUY013 by intragastric administration on xenograft mice model was detected. The change of cell cycle was studied by flow cytometry assay. The expressions of Topo I, widetype p53, active caspase-3, bcl-2 and bax proteins were analyzed by Western blotting assay. Results showed that CPUY013 could inhibit BGC823 cell proliferation at a certain range of dose. The flow cytometry analysis showed that CPUY013 and topoecan (TPT) led to a decrease in the proportion of G1 phase cells and an increase in the proportion of S phase cells, suggesting that they arrested the transition of tumor cells from S phase to G2 phase. The sub-G1 group was analyzed by flow cytometry. Compared with control, after 48 h treatment with CPUY013 or TPT, the sub-G1 group significantly increased in a dose-dependent manner. CPUY013 and TPT induced apoptosis in tumor cells. Cells treated with CPUY013 for 48 h were stained with AO/EB mixture. Then the cells were observed under fluorescence microscope. And it was found that early and late apoptosis cells were identified by perinuclear condensation of chromatin stained by AO/EB, respectively. Necrotic cells were identified by uniform labeling with EB. With the increase of concentration of CPUY013 and TPT, these morphological changes under the fluorescence microscope become clearer, indicating that the proportion of apoptosis cells increased gradually. By using JC-1 kit, loss of deltapsim was also detected in BGC823 cells treated with CPUY013 and TPT, which represent mitochondria function. And characteristic DNA ladder was observed apparently in BGC823 cells treated with CPUY013. When the xenograft tumor mice were treated with 150 mg x kg(-1) CPUY013, the tumor growth inhibition rate was 62.1%. The expression of bax and p53 proteins increased significantly and bcl-2 and bcl-2/bax decreased after the treatment of the CPUY013. The CPUY013 down-regulated Topo I protein expression and up-regulated active caspase-3 protein expression. The novel Topo I inhibitor CPUY013 can significantly suppress the growth of BGC823 xenograft tumor in vivo and inhibit the proliferation by inducing apoptosis of BGC823 cells in vitro.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To investigate the expression of haptoglobin in the lesions of condyloma acuminatum (CA) at the mRNA and protein level, and to explore its role in the pathogenesis of CA.@*METHODS@#The expressions of haptoglobin protein and mRNA in the skin tissues of 30 patients with CA and 20 normal controls were detected by immunohistochemistry(IHC), Western blot, and hybridization in situ.@*RESULTS@#The in situ hybridization study showed that haptoglobin mRNA was expressed in the epidermal cells in the lesions of CA. The distribution of haptoglobin mRNA expression in the lesions of CA was similar to that of the normal controls, and the expression of haptoglobin mRNA in CA was higher than that of the normal controls. There was a significant difference in the positive expression of haptoglobin mRNA between the CA group and the control group (P<0.05). The immunohistochemical study showed that haptoglobin protein was expressed in the whole layers of epidermal keratinocytes in the lesions of CA at a high level and stronger staining was seen in the stratum basale and stratum spinosum. Haptoglobin protein was expressed predominantly in the stratum basale in normal skin tissues, while weak staining was seen below the stratum spinosum.There was a significant difference in the mean gray value between the CA group and control group (P<0.05). Western blot showed that the haptoglobin expression in CA lesions significantly increased compared with the normal skins (P<0.05).@*CONCLUSION@#The expression of haptoglobin mRNA in the CA lesions obviously increases and the epidermal cells in the CA lesions are able to synthesize haptoglobin protein. Haptoglobin in the CA lesions may involve in the local immunity escape by preventing Langerhans cell functional maturation and inhibiting the immunocompetence of keratinocyte.

ABSTRACT

Dendritic cells (DCs) derived from bone marrow cells are specialized cells for the uptake, processing, and presentation of foreign and self-antigens. The study indicated that re-transfusion of DCs pulsed with tumor-associated antigen can induce an vigorous specific anti-tumor response in clinic. The present study was aimed to investigate the enhancing effect of DCs derived from human cord blood on T cells in killing tumor cells. Human cord blood mononuclear cells were isolated from human cord blood by density gradient centrifugation using lymphocyte separating medium, and cord blood mononuclear cells were obtained by adherence and cultured in a liquid culture system with GM-CSF and IL-4 for 15 days. Then the cells were analyzed for phenotypes of CD1a by indirect immunofluorescence. The capacity of DCs to initiate T cell-dependent anti-tumor immune responses was assayed by MTT kit. The ratios of DCs to tumor cells in experimental groups were 20:1, 50:1 and 100:1 respectively. The DCs were not added in control group. The results indicated that in the presence of GM-CSF and IL-4, the DCs with typical morphological features at days 15 were observed. At that time, (43.12 +/- 5.83)% CD1a(+) cells were obtained. In addition to these phenotypic properties, the DC of experimental groups could remarkably initiate T cell-dependent anti-tumor immune responses with different ratios compared with control group (P < 0.01), there were no significant difference of killing effects between 100:1 and 50:1 groups (P > 0.05), and killing effect of DC in 20:1 group was higher than that in 100:1 or 50:1 groups (P < 0.05). It is concluded that human cord blood mononuclear cells can serve as a better source of DC, which can promote the capacity to initiate T cell-dependent anti-tumor immune responses.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To explore the best freezing time and the optimum analgesia modality.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>In dogs, intercostal nerves were froze at -70 degrees C at different time including 30, 60, 90, 120, 180 s. Samples were got at the operative day, in 10 days and 60 days respectively, then carried on the pathology exam. In clinical study, 150 patients undergoing thoracotomy were randomly designated into 5 groups, all patients were recorded the heart rate, blood pressure, SO2, VAS, the dosage of dolantin, and observed the complications and side effects.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>At operative day, the freezing nerves appeared brown print macroscopically, and presented degeneration, necrosis of the nerve fiber microscopically with more than 90 s. After 10 days, nerves with more than 90 s became thinner than normal. After 60 days, all nerves had no obvious differentiation than normal. In clinical study, both 90 s group and 90 s with PCIA group were significantly better than 60 s group or PCIA group; The VAS of 90 s with PCIA group was significantly lower than 90 s group but had more side effects such as vomiting, nausea.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>At -70 degrees C, the freezing time should be no less than 90 s. The freezing intercostal nerves can safely and effectively relieve postoperative chest pain. The effect of analgesia of 90 s with PCIA group is the best, but has many side effects.</p>

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To survey mycoplasma infection in female urogenital tract and analyze the drug sensitivity of mycoplasma in Changsha.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Ureaplasma urealyticum (Uu) and Mycoplasma hominis (Mh) were detected in 6566 cases of female urogenital tract infection by means of mycoplasma culture and drug sensitivity reagent kit. Sensitivity tests for 10 antibiotics were also performed.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>A total of 2938 cases were mycoplasma-positive (positivity rate of 44.75%), including 2469 Uu-positive cases (37.6%), 52 Mh-positive cases (0.08%) and 417 cases positive for both Uu and Mh (6.35%). Josamycin, doxycycline, clarithromycin and azithromycin were more effective against Uu infection. Josamycin, doxycycline and thiamphenicol were more effective against Mh infection. Mixed infection with Uu and Mh was more resistant to most antibiotics but Josamycin and doxycycline.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The female urogenital mycoplasma infection results mainly from Uu. Compared with simple Uu or Mh infection, mixed infection with Uu and Mh has significantly greater resistance to a wider variety of drugs. Josamycin and doxycycline are the primary choice for female urogenital mycoplasma infection in Changsha.</p>

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To investigate the correlation between the apoptosis of psoriatic keratinocytes (KCs) in the psoriatic lesions and patient's condition.@*METHODS@#Thirty patients with psoriasis were included. Activated caspase-3 was examined by colorimetric method in skin biopsy specimens. The apoptotic KCs were detected with terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labeling (TUNEL) assay in skin biopsy specimens. The severities of 26 patients with psoriasis vulgaris (PV) were assessed using the PASI scoring system and the severities of psoriatic lesions.@*RESULTS@#Apoptotic indexes (AI) were higher in the pustular psoriatic lesions than those in the vulgaris psoriatic lesions (P0.05). The severities of psoriatic lesions were positively correlated to AI or the expression of activated caspase-3 in PV lesions (P<0.05).@*CONCLUSION@#The amount of apoptotic KCs may be related to varied types, stages of psoriasis, and severities of psoriatic lesions.
